Sleeping is a privelege it seems…

Lately, my body seems to not want to sleep. I’m not under any unusual stress, and I haven’t been sick. But, just randomly out of the blue, I did NOT sleep this recent Tuesday night. This resulted in me crashing hard around 6 AM when I needed to wake up for work. Thankfully, I haven’t had some kind of mega-flu wipe out my sick days so I was able to call in for the morning and get a glorious 4 or 5 hours of sleep, then go into work. Even that night despite going to bed around 10 PM for a normal 8 hours, I felt like I blinked and did not sleep.

So, Thursday I scheduled an appointment at the doc’s, hoping for Ambien or something to help me sleep. He recommended/prescribed the Ambien I was hoping for, as well as Rosarin, which is a lot milder than Ambien. The plan to try was to take both of them before bed for a month and see how it goes to reset my sleep schedule. Then afer a month, stop the Ambien and just use the Rosarin for a week, and then stop that to see if its even needed. So last night I took the Rosarin around 9 PM, then the Ambien around 9:30. It kicked in around 9:45 and was telling me to get the hell to bed. I was out.

The folly of all this was discovered around 6:30 AM when I had hit snooze on my alarm a bunch of times and could not get the hell out of bed, and all damn day was dragging ass. Usually even after having a 2 hour sleep night I’m able to function or pretend to function until work is over. This sucked. SO! I am probably going to just try the Rosarin by itself when going to bed and holding off on the Ambien unless I desperately need it (another method he and I discussed). I guess my funky metabolism does not like that drug.

Other than that, not much is going on with me. I bought the necessary things to bake a cake (pans, spatula, storing container thingy, etc.) and did so. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Mmm. Cleaned up my storage server’s array so I have 1 TB free of space to fill up with junks. Still need to go through a couple work friends’ MP3 collections to see what I like. I threw a crapton of Infected Mushroom on my iPod, which threw the shuffle feature into playing 95% Infected Mushroom. Not BAD per se, but I am almost getting tired of it.

That’s pretty much it.
